ABOUT ME

I have a Bachelor's in English Literature and a Minor in Professional Writing. I have been editing informally for the last 11 years and have just recently begun to edit professionally-and I love it!

I am a stay at home mom with a passion for the written word. I have 3 beautiful whirlwinds. When I am not taming the wind, being domestic (the house just won't stay clean...) or spending time with my hubby, then you will most likely find me immersed in reading or editing.

Testimonials
Brittany reviewed my novel, and although it had already undergone three fine-toothed comb edits, she found multiple oversights and just plain errors. She made helpful suggestions for improvement, was very quick to respond to questions - and delivered her reviewed copy in half the time promised. Thanks very much for your help, Brittany!--Matthew Oleniuk, author of Maple Fudge
I used Brittany's services for my upcoming prequel, Forecast, and I was impressed with her content edits. If you are looking for ideas to deepen your plot threads or are seeking a story development coach, Brittany just might be your girl!--Misty Provencher, author of The Cornerstone Series
Brittany has edited several of my books, and she always offers very insightful feedback. She's great at catching the little mistakes that others miss, and she pushes me to be a better writer and make my stories as good as they can be. Great to work with!--Kellie McAllen, author of Celestia Divisa Collection
Having had Brittany Goodman work as an editor for my novel, Hounds of God, I can say without doubt that she provides high quality editing and has a wonderful eye for story. I hope to work with her again, and highly recommend her for your editing needs. --Justin Sloan, author of The Cursed Night books

TESTIMONIALS

Brittany and I are working on a novella of mine right now. She has provided a thorough structural edit including super insightful feedback on my character development, holes in my story, and how I can work to make my main character more empathetic. I know that her feedback is going to help me make my story so much stronger, and I would definitely work with her again. Now back to work, me! --A.L. Knorr, author of  the Elemental Origins Novels
I am BEYOND pleased with Brittany's work! After taking on my manuscript at very short notice, not only did she return my MS way earlier than expected, but her edits were amazing to boot! Her recommendations for sentence structure, word choice, etc, were brilliant, but what really sets her apart from some of the other editors I've worked with are her professionalism and her killer recommendations to improve the plot of my novel. My latest book, Savages, will be great because of her. Cannot wait to work with Brittany again! --Katherine Bogle, author of the Chronicles of Warshard series
I couldn't recommend Brittany enough. Not only is she a delight to work with, but she certainly knows what she's doing. She reviewed my bonus ebook based on a very complex fantasy world and she did an amazing job. It was like being able to tap into a reader's mind. My novella is definitely better thanks to her. --Veronica Cervilla Author of Poker Kingdom I: Smile of the Harlequin

I received an in-depth edit from Brittany. Wow, Brittany is really thorough and gave me lots of feedback and ideas for paragraphs and scenes along with suggestions. This was this first read-through. I am still working through my manuscript with her comments and I can say she does a thorough job and offers constructive feedback and ideas for improvement. She also provided a summary of her findings which was really, really useful so I can work through and improve my story. Very Many Thanks Brittany, Amazing! --JN Moon, Author of The Always Dark Angel series

Brittany edited the first part in my short story series, and she did a fantastic job! She found places to expand the story to give it more depth, and she gave excellent suggestions on where to incorporate more detail to help give the story that extra shine. She was a pleasure to work with, was extremely professional while still being personable, and her turnaround time was impressively fast. I enjoyed working with her and hope to do so again in the future. I definitely recommend her services.--Ashley Maker, Author of A Curse of  Stone and Moonlight and Under the Trees

Brittany Goodman's editing is superb: she identifies story gaps, describes what is missing--and, more importantly, why that missing piece matters to the reader--and offers solutions to improve the story.

After just the briefest of glances at her comments, it was clear to me that her recommendations would make my story so much stronger. On second review, the path forward for my rewrites was clearer and I could see how the revisions to the character arcs and the overall story arc would deliver their promises to the reader.

Her friendly approach to editing and her encouraging comments letting me know I hit my intended mark throughout the manuscript left me smiling despite the amount of rewriting I have left to do.

I highly recommend Brittany Goodman as an editor and cannot wait for her feedback on my next book.--Preeti C. Sharma, Author of Dark Empire, Redeeming the Demon's Daughter, and the Sea Deception series
